You’re in for a ‘wheelie’ good time on Day 7 of Invictus Games Sydney 2018 presented by Jaguar Land Rover. In addition to wheelchair basketball pool play sessions, archery and athletics are also on the agenda.
The precision and skill of competitors, combined with the exacting standards of the competition, makes archery one of the most compelling Invictus Games sports. Competition will be held at the Sydney Olympic Park Hockey Centre with entry via Quaycentre.
Wheelchair basketball promises to be one of the most popular sports at the Games. The sport owes its history to the desire of World War II veterans with spinal cord injuries to become active again. At Invictus Games Sydney 2018 the six nations competing in the mixed team competition are: USA, New Zealand and Canada in Pool A, and The Netherlands, Australia and the United Kingdom in Pool B.
Athletics is one of the most popular sports of the Invictus Games. competitors challenge themselves over two days of track and field events at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre.
Only six weeks after a landmine incident Ryan McIntosh was walking on his prosthetic leg. He had a newborn on the way and his wife had showed him some tough love, to ensure he maintained his independence. He wouldn’t be at the Games without his wife.
